GUISEPPE CUCCHIARA
Giuseppe Cucchiara grew up surrounded by jazz records and diverse musical influences. Guided by his father, a classical bassist, he explored various instruments before dedicating himself to the bass at 16. As a teen, he performed with acclaimed drummer Stefano Bagnoli in the “We Kids” Trio, recording four albums for major Italian jazz labels.
In 2015, Giuseppe earned a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he studied with renowned mentors, including Hal Crook, Neal Smith and Danilo Perez. He released his debut album, Cookin’ Hot, in 2017, featuring Stefano Bagnoli and Dado Moroni, and was recognized in Italy’s Jazz Dictionary.
Relocating to New York, Giuseppe performed at the Jazz Gallery for Kenny Barron’s 75th birthday and began a mentorship with Ron Carter. He has since shared stages with top musicians such as Rodney Green, Luis Perdomo, Johnny O’Neal, and Sarah McKenzie, performing at iconic venues like Dizzy’s Club, Smalls Jazz Club, and Umbria Jazz Festival.
